Laura Cinti

Laura Cinti is a research-based artist at C-LAB whose practice intersects science, technology and visual storytelling through experimentation and field research. More recently, her focus has shifted to biodiversity loss, using creative and technological approaches to rethink our relationship with endangered species.

Her artworks have been exhibited internationally at venues including the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles, Ars Electronica, Museo Nazionale d’Arte Electronica, MAXXI National Museum, Van Abbemuseum, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, and The Royal Institute of Great Britain.

Her work has been widely covered in major media outlets, including The Times, BBC, The Independent, National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, Wired, CNET, Dagens Nyheter, BBC’s Have I Got News for You, Euro Weekly, and Corriere della Sera. Her work has also been featured in academic and literary publications, including Next (Michael Crichton), Cactus (Dan Torre), Arte Transgenica. La Vita È Il Medium (Mario Savini), and Sculpture Now (Anna Moszynska).

She has held research and residency positions in the UK and Europe, including as a Research Fellow at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton and Artist in Residence at the Otherwise Residency, an art-science programme developed in collaboration with the Bucharest Institute of Biology and curated by Asociația Culturală Marginal in Romania. She is recipient of multiple awards, including the SIGGRAPH Art Gallery 2025 Best in Show Award, NOVA_XX Award, MUSE Digital Art Award, Roots & Seeds Award, and Designers & Artists 4 Genomics Award.

She holds a PhD from UCL's Slade School of Fine Art, where she worked with University College London’s Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging.
