"Playing God by creating transgenic creatures is fun, sure, but all those years of biotechnology education can be so… tedious. Skip the formalities and get down to some hands-on mutating at Laura Cinti’s appealing art site, where you can work to perfect the flower-laden, finger-waving cactus “plant” for which the world of botany has been yearning. We’re sure it’s be both lovely and useful."

GENETOY is an online interactive toy where users can play virtually with elements to construct their own transgenic or mutated plants. Selection tools in the scroll bar can be dragged into the 'lab' where the transgenic and bio-prosthetic creation can take place. These include the jellyfish gene to create glowing green/red plants (i.e. green or red flourescent protein) and the frost resistant artic flounder gene.
